The Edsac Simulator: EdsacPC Version 4.1 ---------------------------------------- Notes: ------ 1 You will need the Adobe Acrobat reader to read Edsac's help files. Edsac expects to find the reader in C:\Acroread If Edsac can't find the reader, you should set the path in the ini file. However, provided you have the Acrobat reader installed somewhere on your system, you can read the Edsac Acrobat files as regular pdf documents. 2 The Edsac Folder contains five major items (Edsac.exe, Readme.txt, EdsacDoc.pdf, EdsacTG.pdf, and a folder of text files - Edsac Tapes). There is a sixthfolder Edsacres, which contains .wav files for Edsac's sounds. If you wish to move things around in the Edsac Folder, you may need to change the settings in the ini file. 3 Edsac can be uninstalled using the Add-Remove Programs Control Panel. Licence and Copyright --------------------- EdsacPC can be used without charge by individuals and educational users. It can be distributed on a personal basis (eg. giving a copy to a friend). Edsac must not be distributed through commercial channels without prior permission. If you make classroom use of Edsac, please will you let me know, as this evidence helps the continuing development of Edsac.
