POKER MACHINE for the AMIGA ================================================== Written in AMOS BASIC 1.2 by Peter Craven 1991 WEIPA ================================================== To load the Poker Machine you can either boot this disk or run from Workbench by clicking on the "AMOSGOLD.amos" icon. The disk must be in DF0: unless you change the Dir$=" line. You may also run the program from the Amos Editor. Once loaded you are presented with a quick instruction screen, click to load the main program. The Poker Machine loads up and when the reels spin to a stop you are ready to play. You have a credit of 100 coins to begin with. To play you click on whichever LINE you wish to bet on. You can play any one, two or the entire three LINES but you must play at least one. Each line cost one coin to play. To view the Odds Screen click on the AMOS GOLD area above the reels. This screen is also available at the end of a spin by pressing the RIGHT button anywhere. To spin the reels click on the handle at the right of the reels. The reels spin and stop from left to right, wins are credited automatically. Once the Win window is flashing your payout, "---" for nothing, you can press the Left button to reset or the Right button to view the Odds Screen. Depending on the result of the previous spin you may also have the option of HOLDing the reels for the next spin. This will occur when there was no win on the previous spin, there were no reels held on the previous spin and there were no winning combinations on unpaid LINEs. To hold a reel click on the HOLD box under that reel. Well, that's all there is to it. You will find the payouts a little more generous than the real machines! Careful use of the HOLD options will greatly increase your odds. I have also enclosed the Odds Screen drawing program in case you wish to design your own reels or change the payout odds.
