Edith Manual        Ruler Dialog         11th June 1994


The RULER DIALOG  lets you set/copy  ruler options  for
individual text windows  and the  general settings  for
the three text window classes DEFAULT, ALTERNATIVE  and
BINARY.

Use the  PULL DOWN  MENU  to select  a text  window  or
default  text  window   class  for   which  to   change
parameters.

Use FETCH  to copy  a text  window's ruler  information
into the dialog window.

Use APPLY to copy the dialog window's information  into
a text window.

Rulers  can  be  LOADed  and  SAVEd  by  clicking   the
appropriate buttons  and entering  a file  in the  file
selector.  The following files in the system  directory
are used for Edith's default setup:

   DEFAULT.RUL
   ALTER.RUL
   BINARY.RUL




** as  the  EDITOR  TAB  STOPS  can  be  at   arbitrary
   positions, these cannot be  set in this  dialog, but
   must be positioned  within a  text window, and  then
   copied using the FETCH button.
