** 1 page regular / 670 words ** Siteceeing Thomas Sahlin's home pages 75% http://user.tninet.se/~jyc891w/software/ ** SAHLIN.JPG here ** These stylish web pages are clearly designed to support and register Thomas' Atari software. The site is divided into six main areas: ** UL ** * Main page: This includes news and details what you can find in the other sections. * Games: This includes hundreds of cheats and an online sliding puzzle game. * Guest book: Sign or view the guest book, there are comments in Swedish and English and most people seem to like the pages. * Software: This section includes details and downloads of all of Thomas' Atari software including HTML2TXT 2, Mystify, a screensaver, The Poker Machine game and STEqualizer, a utility to play mod and edit samples, which controls the microwire interface included in STe/MegaSTe and TT machines. * Registration: This section can be used to register for any of Thomas's free of charge. Enter your details into the form and you'll receive an email containing your personal key - an excellent system. * Links: These are a bit thin on the ground. Currently there's just one Atari link to Mille Babic's home pages and that was broken or unavailable when I tried it! ** /UL ** The Main and Games pages don't display in CAB 2.7, probably because they're riddled with Java, but the URL we've included above takes you directly to the Atari software pages which do load - and I've also checked the registration forms work so there are still plenty of reasons to visit these pages. Joe Connor --- The Atari Historical Society 95% http://www.atari-history.com ** AHS.JPG here ** As this is the last site review in the last issue this site seems appropriate. There are a handful or other excellent Atari history sites (we've included their URLs in the news column) but this is a site I would be happy to refer anyone to for general information about the Atari platform past and present. Site navigation is logical with superb graphics throughout. There are pages devoted to consoles, computers, coin-ops/arcade, the latest news and links to other (mostly) historical sites. For (almost) every Atari machine there's a picture along with a lively description and often a specification sheet and this really is one for your Hotlist. Respect to Curt Vendel for creating this cracking site! Joe Connor --- ** 1 column news ** Here's links to the other Atari history/reference sites: The Atari exhibition http://www.best.com/~hmk/atari.htm Atari Time Machine ** ATM_LOGO.GIF here ** http://atari-time-machine.atari.org Back in Time We reviewed this site in AC#13 p38 where it rated 92% http://www.emuclassics.com/backintime/ The Atari Library http://markn.users.netlink.co.uk/ STNICCC 2000 New Site! Some really cool people may come to the ST News International Christmas Coding Convention 2000. We won't mention any names because none of them are certain and we wouldn't want to let anyone down. Alex "The Nutty Snake/El Serpento Loco of QX/AE" Crouzen has totally revamped the site and it looks mega cool now so check it out and send them some feedback. Surf over to: http://www.fortysecond.net/stniccc2000 ST-Computer Online FALKE Verlag, publishers of the German ST-Computer magazine, has moved its web pages to: http://www.st-computer.atari.org Uwe Seimet Home pages moved Demos of Uwe's commercial software, Diskus, HD-Driver and Outside can all now be downloaded from: http:..home.nikocity.de/nogfradelt/atari_english.html Atari.org Problems atari.org was down for an extended period during October 99, Richard Davey explains: "We lost power to our main network centre for over 3 hours. This was longer than the generators can run for (they have approximately two hours uptime) and GEM had never been configured to shut itself down properly in the event of power loss. So it crashed. Big time. The motherboard and hard drives in the server were fried." Like many things on the Atari scene atari.org is run as a hobby on a shoestring, even though it usually offers a professional quality service, and it took time and money to replace the server. They're currently looking for donations from anyone who can help to upgrade the server. For the full story visit: http://www.atari.org/
