** 1 page regular Site seeing / 656 words ** Site seeing Our regular virtual tourist is on holiday so we took the opportunity to check out his web pages!... Fujizone ** FUJIZONE.GIF ** http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/fujizone/ This site is clearly designed as a "jumping-off" point to other sites. The pages are well planned, consistent, neat, easy to use and look equally good in ST-high or at higher resolutions in colour. The Fujizone logo, rules and icons are recycled for use on the subsequent pages which makes the most of resources and results in fast pages display - even on standard Atari machines, because the images are already ready to load in the off-line cache. Many Atari web pages include lists of links to other pages but all too often these suffer from "link-rot" because the pages have moved. The Fujizone links were bang up to date and include a description which gives you some idea what to expect and saves a lot of wasted site-hopping. The Fujizone is a member of the Atari "Webring" which links it to other Atari-related web pages. Joe Connor Rating: 80% Edmonton Atari Computer Hobbyist ** each.gif ** http://207.153.3.18/each/ This site features the homepages of the Canadian Edmonton Atari Computer Hobbyist group (EACH). The pages are well laid out and succeed in both providing information about the group and supplying links to other user groups and other Atari related sources. One feature in particular captured my interest. There are several files available for download including updates of programs and instructions on setting up an Atari for use with comms software. The EACH group have updated these pages regularly - and it shows, because they provide current news about themselves and the Atari scene across North America. Although there's naturally a heavy American/Canadian bias this is a site well worth visiting - a contender for a place on most CAB hotlists. Robert Paton Rating: 75% InterActive Online ** inactive.gif ** ** Site of the month ** ** Darryl: OK, OK so I had to fiddle the scores! ** http://www.cix.co.uk/~inactive/ The InterActive supported Shareware scheme was started by Joe Connor (I'm honoured! Ed). InterActive supports over 50 non-commercial titles, 23 different authors and has accepted over 2000 registrations. InterActive already offers local telephone, email support and a free postal update service and these pages are a natural extension to these services. All the latest software supported by InterActive is available for download from the pages. There's information about the programmers along with background information about programs which I found a useful guide to which programs to download. The InterActive site provides a service and it achieves this aim efficiently. It's also a member of the Atari "Webring" which offers an easy way to access other Atari-related web pages along with a page of links to other Atari sites worldwide, some with descriptions, some without. There's also an image catalogue which contains every image on the site which was semi-automatically created with CABalog - a new CAB module. If you're using any InterActive supported shareware it's well worth keeping an InterActive entry in your hotlist. Al Goold Rating: 81% Captain Blade's Atari Bookmarks ** CAPTAIN.GIF ** http://www.teleport.com/~atari/ You are beamed aboard a starship with Captain Blade as your host. The heavy Star Trek influences used in the construction of these pages is interesting, imaginative and attention grabbing. Clicking on a link is called teleporting. There's all the usual Atari information including links to other sites, user groups and file archives. It appears to be the home of the Portland Atari Group in the US. Teleport to the crew section and you'll discover Captain Blade is none other than Rich Tietjens, our Atari Computing US distributor, along with the rest of his resume. One of the best features is an excellent Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section covering a number of Atari related subjects. The pages are up to date and regularly maintained - the last update was 16 April 1997 - well worth a look. Les Charles Rating: 78%
