DiskJockey 98 Demo v2 release 2.0 March 18, 1999

This latest update to DiskJockey 98 is not just a fix release.
Although it does fix 16 minor bugs and annoyances, we have also added
15 new features and functions, 22 new viewer file formats in the
Professional Edition and 14 new viewer formats in the Standard
Edition. Many of the file viewer modules have been improved for faster
file display speed and increased viewing accuracy.

Added Printing a Folder Listing. Select the folder in the folder tree
, and click mouse button 2 to display the context menu. Select Print
folder list to send a listing of the filelist to the printer. The
listing will print in the current sort order of the filelist.

Added RENAME function to Filelist and FolderTree context menus. This
is simply adding the rename function to the context menus, for those
people not familiar with the click once and then click again method of
renaming a file or folder.

Added Selecting current folder adds a "\" and positions cursor at end
of string ready to accept new folder name from keyboard. This is a
convenience feature. Prior to this addition, selecting the current
folder selected the entire folder name, requiring another click to
edit or add a new folder name. Use mouse button 2 to select the
folder name in the current folder and copy the path to the clipboard.

Added ctrl-c function to copy the path name from the status line. If
highlighted, ctrl-c will copy the highlighted path name text to the
clipboard. As before, you may use a mouse button 2 click to select
and copy.

Added ctrl-c, ctrl-x and ctrl-v functions for file copy and move
operations. To copy a list of files/folders highlight in the filelist
and press ctrl-c then select (highlight) a folder in the folder tree
and press ctrl-v - the files/folder will be copied. Use ctrl-x to
move instead of copy. This method of copy/move was added for
consistency with the Windows Explorer, and for those customers who are
more keyboard oriented. Hint: copying a list of files to several
folders - select the files, press ctrl-c - then highlight the first
target folder and press ctrl-v, then highlight the second target
folder and press ctrl-v, then highlight the third target folder and
press ctrl-v, etc - each ctrl-v will start another copy thread of the
file list to highlighted folder. This is a very useful function for
LAN administrators who need to copy lists of files/folders to several
networked systems.

Added feedback to the user during the copy/move operation. During a
copy or move operation the files/folders being copied are displayed
and updated in the status line.

Added Cancel button to copy/move operations. During a copy or move
operation the user may cancel the operation by pressing the cancel
button located in the status line. The copy/move thread will be
canceled at the end of the current file/folder and the status line
will indicate xxx of yyy items copied.

Added Drag and drop files/folders to the drive list column will begin
a copy operation to the root of that drive. Just drag one or more
files or folders to the drivelist id and drop.

Added Expand a folder structure in the folder tree. This will expand
the entire folder structure - exposing every sub-folder in the
structure. Just select a folder or sub-folder and click mouse button
2 - then select Expand Folder.

Added Contract (shrink) a folder - contract any and all sub-folders
currently expanded. Folder Context menu choice - Contract Folder. Just
select a folder or sub-folder and click mouse button 2 - then select
Contract Folder.

Added Statistics on DiskJockey Usage. The usage of many of the
DiskJockey functions are tabulated and displayed in the About
DiskJockey dialog found in the Help menu.

Added Desktop to the top of the Folder Tree. Several customers asked
to add the Desktop folder to the top of the folder list to allow
copy/move from/to the Desktop.

Added MP3 file TAG info - track name, track number, artist, date
displayed in status field. (Next version will have MP3 support!)

Added an AutoView limit for PDF (Acrobat) file viewing in the
Preferences - AutoView dialog.

Added - Shift-Esc will now toggle viewer-right to viewer bottom to
viewer off - to viewer right, etc.

View Zip files in DJ Standard Edition with no .ZIP extension. 11/11/98

Delete temp files created as a result of viewing files inside a zip
file. 1/22/99

Fixed a memory leak (memory allocated and not freed) - when a bitmap
type file was viewed in an external window a small amount of memory
(1532 bytes) was allocated and not freed. Over time use of the DJ to
externally view these type of files could tie up a significant amount
of memory. This fix frees that memory at the close of each external
window. 1/21/99

Display of folder size in Network Neighborhood folders was in error.
Fixed 1/22/99

Sorting FileList correctly - Folders first then files when sorted
ascending - reverse for descending. 1/24/99.

Display of file date - time was one hour off after expire of Daylight
Saving time - Fixed 1/25/99.

Fixed another small memory leak - ListView ID and pidl. 1/25/99

Fixed Refresh button to refresh filelist as well as Folder List.
 1/25/99

Refreshed filelist after move operation. 1/25/99

Fixed some ctrl-c bug (sometimes ctrl-c did not copy text to
clipboard - especially if a bitmap had been viewed earlier). 2/16/99

Fixed Printing inconsistencies.

Fixed AutoClip problem when on and selecting vector files the DJ would
appear hung for several seconds. Fixed 2/22/99

When deleting several selected files - if a file is open or has access
denied, the DJ goes on to delete the next file and then repeats trying
to delete the opened one. This is fixed in this update - the opened
file is deselected. 3/3/99

Calculating folder structures greater than 2 gigabytes produced
negative results when pressing the Sub button. Fixed 3/8/99

Save the Viewer sizes when turning Viewer off - then when turning on
again, resize to prior size.

Serialized Zip and Unzip operations. Prevents a second zip operations
from interrupting the first. A Zip and an UnZip can operate
concurrently.
