Desk Manager 3.3 DESKTOP.INF/NEWDESK.INF Zaps
---------------------------------------------

The data files in this archive will enable you to patch your copy of
Charles F. Johnson's Desk Manager 3.3 so it can manage the desktop
configuration files used by TOS 2.0x ("Newdesk TOS"). After the zap is
applied, Desk Manager will be able to manage NEWDESK.INF files for
different resolutions or configurations.

Note: A patched copy of Desk Manager _WILL NOT_ be able to manage your
old DESKTOP.INF files.

DESK2NEW.ZAP is used to make this change. NEW2DESK.ZAP is also supplied
so you can reverse the change if you wish.


To perform the patch, follow these simple instructions:

  1.  IMPORTANT!!!  Make a copy of your DESKMG33.PRG program file and store
      it in a safe place, just in case something goes wrong during the
      upgrade process.  Don't modify your only copy!

  2.  Run the program SUPERZAP.PRG, which is included with this archive
      file.  When the program starts, click the button labeled "Read ZAP
      Data."  A GEM file selector will appear.

  3.  Use the file selector to locate and select the file which has the
      patch you want to install:

        DESK2NEW.ZAP lets Desk Manager manage NEWDESK.INF files.
        NEW2DESK.ZAP lets Desk Manager manage DESKTOP.INF files.

      SUPERZAP will load the ZAP file, and the button underneath "Read
      ZAP Data" will now read "DeskMgr3.3 + NEWDESK" (or "DESKTOP"), and
      become selectable.

  4.  Click on this button and a GEM file selector appears, letting you
      locate the copy of Desk Manager that is to be upgraded.  Select the
      program file and SUPERZAP will do its job, applying the zap you
      selected.
