Alfreds Kistenlager Schiebereien by Stefan Berlitz and Frank Werninger Brief English Instructions by D.A. Brumleve This mono-only program will provide you with hours of challenging puzzles. The rules are simple: With the arrow keys, you control a worker who must shove barrels around a warehouse and place them in the proper locations. You may not spend time leaning against walls. The barrels must be pushed (that is, you must position the worker "behind" them) rather than pulled. To get started, place all of the files in the same folder or directory. The program requires 350K of RAM, so if you have a 520, start with no memory-resident programs. Run AKS.PRG. An alert box will appear. Click on "Weiter" and the program data will be loaded. When the main menu appears, you'll find yourself presented with these choices: _A_ufhoeren (quit) _E_ditor (Create screens) _M_enu ACC's (access to ACCs) _K_isten schieben (shove barrels) Type the initial letter of the desired command to execute it. To play, for example, press . You'll then be asked to specify a level number. Start with 1; it's the only one you may be able to solve! The screen is then filled with a top-view of the warehouse. Each destinations for a barrel is indicated with a diamond shape with the letter "L" inside. Use the arrow keys to move your worker such that he shoves the barrels to the desired locations. Be careful that he doesn't run into walls; if he does, a cartoon character will appear and threaten to put him on report. After enough crashes into walls, the cartoon will come up with an ultimatum. This can be identified by non-German- speakers, as it asks a question ending with "(j/n)". Type for "Ja" (you've just be asked "Is that clear?!"), or else you'll wind up on permanent vacation and have to seek employment anew. Once you complete a level, you'll be given an opportunity to type your name and save your exploit to disk. If you make a fatal error and get stuck, quit the level by pressing and then restart the game from the main menu. There is no time here to go into the use of the editor, but there are plenty of screens already built into the program, and, frankly, if you are clever enough to finish all of them, you're clever enough to use the editor without instructions! For full instructions regarding the program, please refer to the German text file provided by the authors. Have fun!
