PITCH CHANGE WITH CUBASE AUDIO FOR FALCON You may have noticed by now that the 'Tapepitch' function does not work proberly, or at all, when fine tuning in cents. Tuning down in cents does nothing at all, whilst tuning up in cents ends up being many semitones down instead. To get around this problem you can use the 'Sample rate convert' instead. OK, the samples do end up at slightly varied rates, but this does not seem to bother Cubase, even when mixing to DAT via digital. To help, there is a guide to get the tuning right. A semitone change can be achieved by chaging the rate by 2600Khz. Obviously then, a quarter tone will be 1300Khz difference etc. Strangly, to our musical ears though, the sample rat is increased to lower the pitch and decreased to raise the pitch. Sample rate up by 2600 (eg. 44.100 to 46.700) = semitone down. Sample rate down by 2600 (eg. 44.100 to 41.500) = semitone up. Good luck!
