PC-Sound Cards.

Hamburg -  Steinberg Soft & Hardware announced  Cubasis Audio for 
Sound cards  at  CeBIT '95. Secretly every Windows user dreamed 
of using their sound card for more than simple 'zip-zap-boing' 
sound effects. The high sound quality of most sound cards has 
made it possible to create Cubasis Audio for Sound Cards!

The Steinberg developers, having already turned the ATARI-Falcon 
into a digital recording studio complete with integrated MIDI 
recording, now demonstrate that anything is possible - and show 
the result at CeBIT'95: Cubasis Audio turns a Windows PC and a 
16 BIT sound card into a complete recording studio.

 Four independent audio tracks  can be recorded and played back 
with an MME-compatible sound card, fully integrated into the 
Cubase-Technology concept. Depending on the technical 
specifications of the card used up to EIGHT audio tracks are 
possible (= 4 Stereo).

Layer sounds with music, record voices over grooves, re-arrange a 
chosen section of your favourite song, create soundtracks for 
slide-shows or home videos where the original sound is mixed 
with music and commentary - only imagination is the limit.

With Cubasis Audio the user gets  real  4 track-Hard Disk recording 
and all the well known features of the Cubase-Technology: The 
audio segments appear directly on the Arrange Window and are 
handled like MIDI parts. Move, copy & snip the audio segments - 
no problem.

Even the editing of audio data is non-destructive, and copying 
audio parts does not increase the disk space required. The MIDI 
Arrangement is totally parallel with display of the audio 
tracks. You create MIDI parts for synthesizer sounds or drum 
loops just as easily as an audio track to record real audio, 
maybe to capture a vocal idea as it happens.
