Numerous updates since the first public prerelease; check out REVISION.DOC. - Also includes two previously unreleased levels made with DCK. Big long honky description ----------------------------- DCK is a very powerful, very easy to use and very quick DOOM map editor. It features an advanced design: - Fully event-driven interface with dialog boxes, menus, etc - Does NOT require Windows - 32-bit code for speed (this means DCK will not work on a 286) - Intuitive keyboard and mouse commands DCK's key idea is Automation. No more worrying about upper / lower textures, properly closed sectors or any of the other boring stuff that goes into making maps. Of course, you have full and complete access to all the low-level aspects of a map -- every data is also manually changeable. Here are some of DCK's major functions: - Intuitive line-draw tool allows you to create new regions (sectors) quickly. Handles sectors-in-sectors, new sectors, extensions on existing sectors, and more. - Flexible stair creation function - Multiple-selection object editing / moving - Powerful drag-drop functions that DON'T redraw the screen all the time. - Automatic drag-drop line / vertex joining - Fully functional grid including snap to, decrease and increase scale - Rotation / scaling of any objects - Clipboard for any type of objects - Quick and powerful map error checker - Motifs: Multiple sets of default textures for walls, doors, floors, etc. - Texture browser including searching for textures (F2 in tex. fields) - Intelligent automated functions for creating doors and lifts - Format painter for quick duplication of multiple objects Requirements --------------- - VGA (640 x 350 x 16 minimum) - A Mouse! - A 80386 or higher processor. - DOOM registered version (will NOT work with shareware version.)
