Lemmings Amiga Format Playable Demo - Player's Guide ==================================================== By Robert Koon =============== Fancy a spot of LEMMING-AID? (get it?! Lemon aid = Lemming Aid!) Let me present you with a walkthrough of levels 1 through 3 with map pics and everything that illustrates each level. Level 1 - "A Doddle" -------------------- Access Code - DGHPVMXHIY The first Lemming that drops out SHOULD be a BUILDER (see pic Lev1.1). The second Lemming that drops should be a BLOCKER (also see pic Lev1.1). OK, here's what you need to do: What you should first is make the second Lemming a BLOCKER. Click on the BLOCKER icon when you hear "Let's Go!", and click on the second Lemming when he is far enough to the right. Next, click on the builder icon and WAIT until the first Lemming reaches the cliff. When he reaches there, make him a BUILDER (by clicking on him). You need him to build at least TWO bridge sections (see pic Lev1.1) in order for the bridge to be long enough for everyone else to cross. When the builder is done, click on the BASHER icon and wait until the Lemming reaches the huge rock. When he gets there, make him a BASHER (by clicking on him: see pic Lev1.2). This should be enough to make a path all the way through the rock. Click on the SINGLE BOMB icon and click on the BLOCKER (is there another way to 'reset' a BLOCKER?). Wait five seconds, and BOOM! He's gone so everyone else can walk to the exit. You know you've done it right if your level one looks like pic Lev1.Fin. All you have to do now is wait for everyone to walk through the door. Like the game says, "It's a doddle." Level 2 - "...There's traps about" ---------------------------------- Access Code - OHPVMXDIIR Here's where it gets a little more tricky because you have to be quick in selecting the 'job' icons. In a nutshell, here's what you're going to do: Make 4 bridge sections over the water (two from the left and two from the right) See #2 and #3 on pic Lev2.1 Use a MINER to dig towards the weird horseshoe shaped things starting a little before the trap (see #5 on pic Lev2.2) Make the MINER into a BASHER when he's caught in the horseshoes (see #6 on pic Lev2.2) Make the same guy a BASHER when he reaches the first big rock (see #4 on pic Lev 2.1) Also make him a BASHER when he reaches the second big rock (see #8 on pic Lev 2.3) Make him into a BUILDER so he can build a one section bridge over the trap (see #9 on pic Lev2.3) Make him a BUILDER so he can make a two section bridge over the chasm (see #10 on pic Lev2.3) Now for the specifics: Click on the BUILDER icon first (when you here "Let's go!"). Make the first Lemming the comes out of the left 'dropper' a BUILDER. Then quickly click on the BLOCKER icon and click on a Lemming that's far enough away from the bridge but between where the Lemmings hit the ground when they drop and the bridge. Now, click on the first Lemming that's about to walk off the left edge (see #1 on pic Lev2.1). This prevents everyone from falling off on the left and it also keeps them from walking into the water whilst the bridge is being built. Having done that, quickly make a Lemming to the right a MINER. Click on the BLOCKER icon and make a Lemming a BLOCKER that's between the MINER and where the Lemmings are falling. Then, click on the BUILDER icon and make the first Lemming that's going to walk into the water a BUILDER. Click on the BLOCKER icon and make a Lemming that's between the BUILDER and where the Lemmings are falling into a BLOCKER. Now click on the BASHER icon and pay attention to the MINER (if he's not already in the horseshoes). You need to BASH him out of the horseshoes, but be careful only to use enough BASHINGS that are necessary. When he reaches the first huge rock, make him a BASHER again. When he reaches the second huge rock, make him a BASHER one last time (see #8 on pic Lev2.3). Now click on the BUILDER icon and make the same guy a BUILDER when he reaches the trap (see #9 on pic Lev2.3). He only needs to build once here. Lastly, when he reaches the bump (see pic Lev2.3), make him a BUILDER. He needs to build TWICE here. To save time, you can do the following WHEN THE BUILDER IS ON HIS SECOND BRIDGE PIECE: Make the rightmost three BLOCKERS into BOMBS (*NOT* NUKE!). Everyone should now be able to walk merrily to the rescue door. Level 3 - "One way to freedom" ------------------------------ Access Code - LPVMXDGJIO This level is a royal PAIN! You MUST be precise when giving jobs to Lemmings. If you look at pic Lev3.1, you'll see that you have to build a lattice-like structure on the left (#1). It has to look similar to this and the joints have got to meet, or else the Lemmings fall too far, and splat! Please note that #4 is optional. I like to build that extra leg to keep the Lemmings occupied whilst I do other things. The arrows on the square wall thing indicate that you cannot BASH to the right, only to the left. While the last bridge section is being built (see #2 on pic Lev3.1), click on the FALLER (the guy with the umbrella) icon and wait until the first guy walks on top of the big wall. Make him a FALLER. Then quickly click on the single BOMB icon and make about five Lemmings THAT ARE ABOUT TO FALL OFF THE LAST BRIDGE SECTION into BOMBS. These guys create the huge hole in the wall (see #3 on pic Lev3.1). Timing is of the essence here, so watch out. Click on the BUILDER icon and watch the guy you made the FALLER. When he gets fairly close to the fire pit, make him a BUILDER (see #5 on pic Lev3.2). He has to build TWICE here, otherwise the bridge will not be long enough. By now, everyone should be mulling around in the hole you blasted. To get everyone out, you have to blast enough Lemmings to create a hole similar to #3 on pic Lev3.1. Remember, the opening of the whole has to be low enough to let the Lemmings fall without being killed. This level will probably take more than one try to complete.
