Laser CPX Copyright 1991 Hillsoft Software This program is shareware. If you enjoy the program and would like to see further additions made to it (and bug fixes if they would ever be needed!) please register the software. Registration of this program will allow users to have new features wish will be described below. Users are not allowed to modify or change this program. Likewise users are not allowed to upload this unless the package is uploaded as a whole. Well enough of that. What exactly is the Laser CPX? And why do you need it? Well after Atari released it's new CPX package to the masses I thought it would be nice to have a CPX that could tell me the status of my SLM as well as the ID number. There are some programs that want the SLM at ID 5 and some want it at ID 7. This program will look and tell you which your SLM is at. What exactly are the Status messages? Well hopefully you will never see the error messages! But there are messages such as Toner Empty, Drum Empty, etc. These are normal messages you may see off and on during use. There are quite a few error messages and I will describe them below. Laser Ready: Pretty self explanatory! Unknown Error: This message is kind of wierd. It will come up when you have a door open. Atari states this message is for errors that are not defined. There is a cover open error that would seem to be the proper code here, but I figured I will go with what Atari says! Maybe the SLM605 returns this differently? Toner Empty: Time for more Toner! Laser Warming Up: Your fuser unit is charging. (Didnt you notice that by the lights dimming? Paper Empty: Well I think this one speaks for itself. Drum Empty: Your drum is old. Time for a new one! Input Paper Jam: Paper has jammed on the input side! Through Paper Jam: Paper has jammed going through the Laser. Output Paper Jam: Paper has jammed on its way out the Laser Cover Open: Well this is self explanatory but I have never seen it! Fuser Malfunction: Your fuser unit is reporting errors. Imager Malfunction: The imager unit is reporting errors. Motor Malfunction: The motor that drives the the paper feed, toner hopper, drum, is reporting errors. Video Malfunction: The video unit that controls printer housekeeping functions is reporting errors. System Timeout: This system has timed out on a wait condition. (Manual Feed) Invalid Opcode: This error occurs when a given Command is not executed. Invalid Device #: This is returned when a given device does not exist. Bad Parameter List: This is returned when a command is out of range. As you can see the list of status messages is rather extensive. If the SLM605 adds any additions to this I will add those to the next release. Now on to the fun part. How to register this program. Registration for this CPX is a small fee of $5.00. I figured anybody who could afford a Laser can afford 5 bucks. If the support is there I will continue to make additions to this program. I feel there is a lot of growth possibility for this CPX and would love to do it, but can't spend the time if there is no support. Additions to this CPX besides the above 605 support (If needed) can be for the Diablo Emulator, Laser Brain, And sending out commands to the Laser to stop printing, etc. As always I would gladly take any suggestions or comments on this program. Info below will show how to reach me. To register the LASER CPX send $5.00 (money order, cash, no checks please) to the below address. If you have comments too you can send them too me at the below address or on Genie send them to my EMAIL address of M.HILL13. I feel $5.00 is minimal for the flexibility this CPX adds to your Laser setup. And you will also make a starving programmer and his pregnant wife happy (okay, I am not starving but my wife is pregnant)! Send all comments and registration fees to. Hillsoft Software 1553 Buckboard Lane Loveland, OH 45140 I hope you enjoy the program!
