This is a slight modification of Steve Rhodes' FONTSPEC.CDK from several months ago. It was more important for me to see 3 different sizes of the typeface than the leading. Otherwise it works in the same way. Thanx to Steve for his upload. His original docs are included below. Jeff Sims Diadem DTP =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= WHAT TO DO WITH FONTSPEC.CDK: This Calamus CDK file will produce a nice representation of any Calamus compatible font you have. Just load into Calamus and REPLACE (see the program manual if you're unfamiliar with this procedure) the font SWISS 25 with any Calamus font (!!do not replace SWISS 50TAB, it's used for labels with all other fonts!!), edit the font name at the top right of the page to match the font you just loaded (a quick way is to "select" that text box with the mousethen press the 'Alternate' and 'E' keys to enter the text editor and then proceed as usual). Now, notice the carriage returns after each character. Be sure to duplicate this when you type in the new font name as this creates the vertical orientation of the text. Some fonts will require adjusting the position of the text box containing the large characters at the bottom of the page. I suggest selecting that text box and gradually adjusting the 'Y' coordinate of the box (using the coordinate display at top right of screen) until you get satisfactory positioning. Now print the file (ALT-P is fastest), load a new font and repeat above instructions for the next font (see CAUTION following)! It takes a while, but when you finish your "Font Catalogue", you will have a good visible reference for font selection in various sizes. I know I've probably given more "instruction" than most of you will require to use this file, however there may be some beginning users who need the extra help. *CAUTION* *CAUTION* *CAUTION* *CAUTION* *CAUTION* *CAUTION* * I have used this file with my SLM804 only. I am aware of nothing * that should cause a problem with other printers with prudent use. * However, I *DO NOT* recommend a long printing session with a dot * matrix printer. Consult your printer's owner's manual for the * manufacturer's recommendations and use your judgement.I have in the * past permanently lost pin function in my LQ-1500 from an intensive * graphic printing session, and that was a "HEAVY DUTY" printer. I hope this will make using Calamus more enjoyable and productive for you! Steve Rhodes GEnie ID: S.D.RHODES
