Yes, here's some more 3-D type icons for use for monochrome 
sytems running NeoDesk 3, the replacement desktop program for the 
Atari ST/STe/Mega STe/ and TT! As last time, these have been 
designed to look like 3-dimensional buttons that "push in" when 
you click on them with your cursor - an effect similar to that 
found on the NeXT and Windows 3 enviroments. Also as last time, 
I've mostly done some re-editing of some existing icons (some 
that "Uncle Carl" has done), as well as some of my own designs - 
you'll find some for Superboot, Knife ST, Undel.TTP, Valgus, a 
better one for Multi Viewer Graphica than the one on the first 
file, etc.      

     I'd like to take time out and thank those of you who took 
the time to download and look at the first 3-D Icon file I put 
onto GEnie last year - I was flattered to see the number of 
downloads that were done for it! - and hope that you enjoy these 
as much as I did doing them. I didn't hear much from very many 
people, though, as I had requested regarding tips on using GFA 
Basic - in fact, "Uncle Carl" was the only one who responded to 
me via E-Mail! (BTW, thanks for the tips, Carl, as well as your 
praise for the first batch - it was flattering to hear from one 
of the bastions of the ST community giving an amateur like me 
such encouragement). 
     
     So this time, like last time, this file is FREEWARE - which 
means that it is to be distributed freely to bulletin boards, 
users groups, friends, etc. All I'm going to ask in return this

     I would like to know how you liked them; also if there is 
any room for improvement that you can see, or if there are any 
programs that you would like to see icons for. Hopefully I want 
to try to come up with some icons for colour systems running 
NeoDesk soon - as soon as I can get a switchbox for switching 
from my mono monitor to my TV! :) 

     PS - I am also writing to say that I still believe in the 
viability of the Atari ST line of computers - so much that I 
decided to "trench in" and improve my system to the best system I 
can afford - I am now using an STe stuffed with 4 megs of SIMMs,
an SM125 monitor, and an SH204 hard drive (the latter will be 
upgraded soon). I know that there is a lot of uncertainity going 
around regarding the future of Atari as of late - but remember, 
these are tough times for any business. And hopefully, with the 
Falcon coming soon, the computer side of Atari will once again be 
a part of the limelight of attention as they did back in '85 with 
the original STs. Hopefully, Atari will do their best to avoid 
the mistakes of the past and to do a proper promotion and 
marketing of the new machines, especially in North America. This 
is a world-class product.
     
     I'd also like to add that one of the best things to do in 
these times is to join, or start, an Atari users group. Believe 
me, I needed all the help I could get when I bought my first 
Atari system back in '88, but I wasn't getting anywhere until I 
joined a users group (the Toronto Atari Federation) a year later 
-it opened up a whole world of applications and understanding of 
how I could best use my system, whether for work, keeping track 
of my finances, composing, or for my own amusement. We as users 
of the ST system can help each other out a lot in this way, 
whether by demonstrating or recommending software or hardware, 
troubleshooting when the system goes down, or trading tips on how 
to squeeze that little bit more of performance out of our 
computers.
