Message-ID: <1993May6.124309.5394@seagoon.newcastle.edu.au> Sender: news@seagoon.newcastle.edu.au Organization: Uni of Newcastle, Australia X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.1 PL8] Date: Thu, 6 May 1993 12:43:09 GMT Lines: 67 I just uploaded a module i created for Unlimited Adventures. It's called "Dead Swamp Destiny" and is available as I type at wuarchive.wustl.edu in /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS/games cs.uwp.edu in /pub/incoming ftp.ulowell.edu in /pub in all three locations are the files deadswam.zip and deadswam.txt *PLEASE* DO NOT email me at this account asking for me to mail you this module, or asking anything. I WILL NOT BE USING THIS ACCOUNT AS OF TODAY! (feel fee however to email me at klf@acsu.buffalo.edu) I will reproduce the txt file here: Dead Swamp Destiny - a module/adventure for SSI's Unlimited Adventures ------------------ Featuring several new monsters (but only a few new graphics!), this module is for the experienced player, and is intended to be played at CHAMPION level. Your characters will progress from level 12 through to about 20-25 as they attempt to thwart the plans of an evil god. Simply unzip the file files.zip into a directory called deadswam.dsn under wherever you have Unlimited Adventures (probably /games/frua or just /frua), play the game and (s)elect new adventure Dead Swamp Destiny. Of course the nature of the game is such that you could cheat if you really wanted to, but I believe this adventure (which, admittedly is pretty much just a hack'n'slash - but a good one!) is balanced, so cheating should be necessary only for those amongst us who can't cope :) Good luck with the last battle, it's a total mongrel! Hints ----- - don't use Blessed Bolts on Rakshasa, there are better targets... - a silver shield is worth 10 normal shields - multiclass as soon as possible. With the test party I started with 2 clerics, 2 rangers, 1 paladin and 1 mage, and instantly made 1 cleric and 1 ranger mages, and made the mage a ranger. This way all three had become double classed before I tackled the Lich-Lord's palace. - plan difficult battles well. The importance of spells like Haste, Fire Touch and Mirror Image cannot be underestimated. - for the best armour class use bracers ac 2, rings of protection +5, cloak of protection +5, shield +5, helm +5. With a good dex you can be under -20 and get minimum 12 movement as well (more with boots of speed!) Odds and ends ------------- Please don't steal any of my graphics or designs without my permission. For a limited time I will be contactable via email at klf@acsu.buffalo.edu, but this may end without notice anytime after the next fortnight (currently May 6 1993). Feel free also to send me comments, praise etc...
