TGA to TIFF file conversion program (c) 1989 Mark Hamilton Ver 1.10 03/90 TGA2TIF is a file conversion program that converts targa (.TGA) files to tiff (.TIF) files. The converted TIFF file can then be read by popular DeskTop Publishing packages, such as PageMaker. The Targa files must be 16 bit color (targa16) and type 2 format. This includes most files created from the True Vision Targa 16 board and the Everex Vision 16 boards. Although not tested, it should work on files created from the True Vision Vista board configured to 16 bit color. Note: files created from Lumena16, ColorScheme I, ColorScheme II, as well as others follow the targa type 2 format and can be converted. Use the DOS REName command to rename the file from the .PIX extension to the .TGA extension. Usage: tga2tif [/m] [\path\]fname[.tga] /m = mirror left to right /? = display syntax This will convert the .TGA file in the path specified to a TIFF file in the current path. The mirror switch (/m) has found to be needed for files created from the Vision 16 board. Conversion time will take less than 2 minutes for a 500k file (depending on system and disk speed). Revision History: v1.00 11/89 - Initial release. v1.10 03/90 - Corrected file name prompt, if filename was not given on command line. - Verifies available disk space on default drive. - Verifies file image starting position in TGA header. - Display number of bytes saved indicates save in progress.
