K4PB's ARRLDX CONTEST PROGRAMS CHANGES INTRODUCED IN REVISION 3.O LOG ENTRY: The most important change is the method of entry of logs. It has been changed to a more orderly flow which permits immediate dupchecking and multiplier checking. When you log a QSO the first thing known is the station callsign. This is entered first. Immediately the call is dupchecked. If it is a dupe the entry is easily aborted. The country is determined from the callsign. If the QSO is a new multiplier the computer will let you know. For most QSOs where the country is determined and the reports are 59 all that needs to be entered is the power. The last entry will be the time. When the cursor is set for time entry pressing ENTER alone enters the time and date from the computer clock and the QSO is logged. (Manual time entry also permitted). At any time during the entry pressing ESC will abort the entry so if the station QRTs or if the pile up is just too great now you can abort the entry. RATE A rate indicator has been added to the top of the logging screen. This is based on the last ten log entries only and will indicate zero if there are not ten entries or the rate is too low to determine. Comments welcome on this new feature. SCORE We put an abreviated score indicator in the upper right of the screen. The score screen by pressing Alt-S is still there but may be removed in future revisions. OTHER CHANGES There have been other small changes that are too numerous to mention. Changes mostly speed things up or make things go more smoothly.
