HAM radio, as it is also known, has vastly more communications possibilities than CB radio. HAM radio offers local and worldwide communications with other HAMS. A variety of methods are available to suit each individuals interests. They use regular VOICE, Teletype, Morse Code, TV pictures, AM, FM, computers, remote control and more. There are HAM satellites too, to relay Amateur Radio communications much like the system used for some long distance telephone calls.
