z51 Nick Addon

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: z51 Nick Addon 2.024

Format: Win OS

Description: Nick Addon is a simple popup based addon that will allow you to keep a directory (up to a maximum of 4 directories) full of nickname lists (up to 10 in each directory, that's 40 nicks) that you can change to. There was no documentation provided, so you are stuck guessing what the addon will do (read above description for information). There was also another huge aspect that went unmentioned, considering the fact that no documentation was provided, read about that below. Upon loading the addon, it does not load the 'necessary' 2nd mIRC script file, so you will have to manually load it. The author could have located this file and loaded it within the first script file and saved the user some heartache. Not a big deal, but a not so overlooked one. Just make sure you '/load -rs' both of the mIRC script files included with this ZIP file. The addon works, for the most part. It does everything it is intended to do (but who knows, with no documentation provided, I was navigating this one blindly :) ).

zsc Xdcc

Title: zsc Xdcc 0.7

Format: Win OS

Description: Small xdcc addon, managable through dialogs. The addon contains a readme.txt that shows you all the commands, but it doesn't include any installation instructions. While the script itself is fairly easy to use, thanks to the clean and tidy dialog window, the "ease of use" department is a little lacking. You have to remember more than half a dozen aliases that allow you to control the script. Perhaps the author would like to add some popup menus for the next version that will allow you to easily effectuate these commands. The addon seems to work very well. It keeps the list of all the files that you are offering in a listbox in the dialog window. You can set a description, view/edit this description and also see the number of times that the file has been downloaded. The script has an on/off script. Instead of using variables, the author could have used remote scripting groups which may have been a tad easier. The coding is relatively well done. My suggestions for the author are to use local ali

Falcon Toolkit for XiRCON

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, XiRCON Scripts

Title: Falcon Toolkit for XiRCON 1.51

Format: Win OS

Description: This is an extension library (DLL) which adds Nineteen new Tcl Commands to Xircon scripting. some of these are; DDE messagebox, winhelp, custom dialog, and ini routines. This tool is for use by experienced TCL scripters. The documentation is excelent; it includes 5 read-me type files, full source code for the dll, and online help. The code is well written and has no back doors. This Tool kit will make TCL writing for the experienced scripter much easier. Since it is not written with the novice, but the experienced scripter in mind I could not give it the highest possible rating, but its close.

Sin0

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, XiRCON Scripts

Title: Sin0 2.3

Format: Win OS

Description: This script provides a nice set of popups for both the channel, and nicklist areas. It also provides, 134 built in aliasises (cover everything you could need in IRC), over 50 toggles for different xircon options (makes life easy), and a set of .txt files that document all of the above. It also includes things like quotes, and thoughts routines (cute for beginners). It is a very good script for the beginner to Xircon/IRC usage, but also provides the functionality needed by many power users. (see note on IRCOPs). It also has the added functionality of automatic login to servers and the dalnet nickserver (with stored password for your nickname(s). After determining that the falcon.dll needed to be in the windows/system directory, the install was very simple. While the included .txt files cover all that is in this script a windows type help file would be a nice addition. Note: It has Fserver, ftp support, and IRCOP function addons with the script.

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, XiRCON Scripts

Title: Tcl 81x upgrade 1.9

Format: Win OS

Description: This is an update to XiRCON's own Xtcl.dll file, the Tcl library functions. This library mainly expands greatly the Tcl library functions which came with XiRCON. It adds a over seven hundred additional Tcl functions to the prepackaged library's twelve. Since XiRCON has not been updated in almost two years, this is very useful in expanding its versatility. This does require Tcl 8.1.0 which can be downloaded from:
