Cyber Patrol Desktop Installer Setup The following package provides a simple way to create a desktop icon reference for Cyber Patrol. It is meant to be integated into a EREG or some other external process that gets run when a product is installed. You can install the setup links by copying the TLCCP32.EXE/INI or TLCCP16.EXE/INI files to the directory in which they will run (they can be run directly from the CPatrol directory if the software which is launching these files permits it). The files can be renamed as long as both the EXE and INI have the same name. The INI file needs to be edited so that: Desc=The name of the CD-ROM containing the CPatrol folder Link=program to run after installer completes The 'desc' is used in the context of: Please insert 'desc'. The 'link' is used to insert the program into a chain of execution-- for example, you might rename REG32.EXE to REG32A.EXE, rename TLCCP32.EXE/INI to REG32.EXE/INI and set Link=REG32A.EXE. This would allow the the install to take place whenever EREG is run. The installer copies 3 helper files to the Windows folder since the media may be offline. It also keeps track of whether the Cyber Patrol desktop icon has been created for this particular title. If so, then it will not be created again (even if the user uninstallers and reinstalls the software). This allows the installer to be multiple times without annoying the user if they have already decided to delete the Cyber Patrol link. NOTE: Make sure to remove How-To.TXT, Compile.BAT and Install.CFG from the CPatrol folder before distributing it.
