Windows 4 Color USA Map version 1.0 Copyright 1994 by John N. Kirkham, all rights reserved This is an early version of a program which is designed to teach students the locations of the states by having them color in a map using 4 colors. It also illustrates the fact that four and only four colors are needed to color the map. This program (US4CMAP.EXE) can be run from the File|Run menu item or File Manager. You can also set up an icon in one of your groups to regularly run the program. First create a directory called US4CMAP (or similar) and copy US4CMAP.EXE to that directory or any other directory you choose. Then click on the background of the group in which you wish to have the icon stored. Next choose New from the File Menu. Select the Program Item button and click OK. In the Description box type the identifier that you wish to appear under the icon. (e.g. US4CMAP) In the Command Line box type the path to the directory where you copied the US4CMAP.EXE file followed by WASMAP.EXE (e.g. C:\US4CMAP\US4CMAP.EXE) In the Working Directory box type the path to the directory where you copied the files. (e.g. C:\US4CMAP) Then click OK. The icon should appear in the group you selected. Simply double click the icon to start the program. I hope to improve the program in later versions. I am releasing this version as copyrighted shareware. Registration is $5. If you like it and wish to use it longer than 30 days, please register it. I also need comments and suggestions for the program. Do you find it useful? I think it needs a better scoring system and some form of visual reward. What do you think? When you register the program, if you send me your comments and suggestions, I will send you a free copy of the next version. (Specify 5 1/4 in. or 3 1/2 in. disk) Please send your registration and comments to: John N. Kirkham 10920 Byrd Drive Fairfax, VA 22030 Please pass copies of this program to your friends with this readme file included. Thank you for your support.
