I have finally gotten around all the roadblocks and posted the MusicBox
Mother Load. Some of you may remember my original posting about this
amazing piece of software several months ago. For those of you who don't
I'll give a brief synopsis.

MusicBox is algorithmic composition software which is also object oriented
with a graphic programming interface. The software consists of a large
and varied set of modules, each of which represents an assembly language
routine with a particular function (clock generator, note generator, MIDI
output, random number generator, logic swithes, etc.) which can be selected
from a menu and interconnected to generate "music". Many of the parameters
are user selectable, giving you the capability to define limits on such
things as the notes generated. This gives you control over many of the
specifics of the generation process. The documentation explains this much
better than I can, so print out a copy and read that.

I've posted source code (Microsoft Assembler v.4.0), executable, and documen-
tation files. All files were downloaded in their ARCed version from Compu-
Serve's MIDI forum. I've successfully used PKXARC to unARC them on my home
system. The files were transfered from the PC to our SUN, uuencoded, split,
and posted. I suggest recombining the split versions (MBDOC and MBSRC),
then uudecoding them to the .arc versions, then downloading them to the PC
prior to PKXARCing. I hope this all goes well. I haven't had much luck
personnally with unARCing files I've copied off this system.

I make no claims about the quality or functionality of this software. I'm
just the messenger responding to a number of requests resulting from my
earlier posting.

Good luck and happy music generating.
