TECHNICAL BULLETIN Bulletin #1-247 Date: June 29, 1989 SYSCON Error Messages The SYSCON version released with NetWare v2.15 returns the following error when invoked if the fileserver name is longer than 8 characters: CreateDirectory returned an error code of -1 If the user hits the Escape key, the same error reappears; the user can then continue. This error occurs because SYSCON is attempting to create a directory that already exists. SYSCON returns the following error message when changes are made to the system login script: ChangeMode returned an error code of 206 An attempt to change file attributes of file "\\server_name\sys\public\net$log.dat" failed. the mode was 1. After the error message appears, the user is returned to the login script. (The changes have actually been saved at this point.) A New SYSCON The problems listed above have been fixed in a new release of SYSCON.EXE. The new file size and date is 236039 6/27/89. The version associated with this copy of SYSCON is v2.20a. The new version of SYSCON.EXE is available on NetWire.
