Single Number for pilot 1.4 (1996/12/15) by Yoshimitsu Kanai Single Number is a puzzle game for one player, specifically, one who is familiar with puzzle books or with the games found in the puzzle pages of weekly magazines. In this program, pilot shows puzzles which the player solves. Numbers (1-9) are given in several cells in the 9x9 matrix. Decide the rest according to the following restrictions: "Each number (1-9) should appear only once in the 9 cells of each vertical line, horizontal line, and 3x3 matrix surrounded by the thicker boundary." There are two modes: user mode and book mode. In user mode: 1. Select "New" from "Puzzle" menu. 2. Choose (1-9) number using push button below and fill the matrix. (To correct the misinput, erase it using "clear" and input the right number.) 3. When all the cells are set with the correct numbers, the game is finished. In book mode: 1. Puzzle will appear one after another. 2. Choose (1-9) number using push button below and fill the matrix. (To correct the misinput, erase it using "clear" and input the right number.) 3. When all the cells are set with the correct numbers, the game is finished and next puzzle appears. 4. If you finished the Book, you can try ....(secret)....! 1. Player can play both in user mode and book mode. In User mode, 2. Player can select 3 levels (beginner, intermediate, and expert). 3. Player can choose symmetry combinations in making puzzles. v.1.4 (96/12/15) -Introduced "Select Puzzle" command in book mode, in which player can view and retry the past book puzzles. -Fixed bug in registration dialog. v.1.3a (96/12/10) -Now Kagi service is available for registration for Windows users. v.1.3 (96/11/23) -Made friends with MenuHack completely. -Introduced "take one back" and "undo take one back" functions by tapping the down/up arrows on the screen or using the scroll buttons (user mode only). -Password is given when each book puzzle is solved. This password allows user to start from the latest book puzzle when he/she re-installs this program or newer version. (I will notice the book password to those who registered before 30 Nov 1996. Let me know the book number and its puzzle you are facing.) v.1.2a (96/10/29) -Do not conflict with MenuHack by E.Keyes. (As SingleNumber changes menu between user mode and book mode, I cleared the menu Rsc ID in the tFRM resource to avoid the conflict.) v.1.2 (96/10/25) -Introduced "Give up" command to see the answer (user mode). -Improved the puzzle making routine. (more than 5 times faster!) v.1.1 (96/10/20) -Introduced "Book mode", in which the player should solve 100 very difficult puzzles one after another. -Display the current puzzle level or book puzzle number on the top. -Improved the "Now making puzzle" dialog. v.1.0 (96/10/07) -Initial vertion.
