This file describes operation of DELDIR.EXE found on PHOENIX-CD VERSION 2.0

To run DELDIR, just enter DELDIR at your  DOS prompt for your CD-ROM drive.

Pressing F9 will enable a color mode just like you used in RUN. 

DELDIR will ask you for a target drive. This is your drive letter which you 
want to be searched. 

DELDIR will only find a file that  has been uncompressed  to a given drive. 
If a file has been copied, DELDIR will not find it.

You will notice that  DELDIR  operates very much like RUN.  Although DELDIR
does not have a on  screen HELP function,  this file will answer almost any
question you may have about it.

DELDIR will only display directories  created from  PHOENIX-CD VERSION 2.0. 
When  a file is  uncompressed,  a .DIR extension is added  to its directory
name.  This is what DELDIR looks for.  By using this method, DELDIR ignores
all other files & directories on a given disk drive.

After DELDIR has found some  directories with this extension,  it will sort 
all of them instantly,  then it will display  them  (10 at a time)  on your 
screen. You will notice  DELDIR gives you a number of pages plus a total of
how many directories it finds. Use your left & right arrows to 'FLIP' pages 
if you have more than 10 directories. Scrolling is done by use of up & down 
arrow keys. 

When you have  highlighted a directory  you would like to be deleted,  just
tap your ENTER key.  This will now place a  GONE  message just left of your 
choice.  In case  you change  your mind to  save this particular directory,
just highlight it again then tap your ENTER key.  Basically, your ENTER key
is a toggle  switch for deleting.  To "Actually" delete a directory at this
point,  just use your  ESCAPE key.  Once you have returned  back to DOS any 
directories you have tagged with a GONE message are now gone. 

DELDIR will remove all files within a directory  in addition to a directory
name in one easy step.  In case you are deleting large volumes of data from
a floppy disk, you will notice this procedure may take a few seconds. 

Some added features you  will notice about DELDIR is that  it lets you know 
how many  directories it has found,  number of directories you  have chosen 
for deletion,  plus number of  remaining directories (If any).  These facts
are also presented as a confirmation just before your ESCAPE takes you back
to DOS operations.

It should be noted that  DELDIR  can be used to view  directories made from
PHOENIX-CD  VERSION 2.0 without actually removing any of them.  To do this,
just use your ESCAPE key. Do not tag any files with a GONE message.
