Welcome to Utilities Toolbox Version 1.36 for Notepad Deluxe (series 5)

Introduction - the intention is to make this an indispensable addition to Notepad Deluxe and it
will be updated regularly.


Please note that this program does change data and should be used with care. However I have been 
testing this program out on my own data and not come to grief. Mark Esposito (author of Notepad)
has designed very robust error handling routines and despite my best efforts :-) it has always
'rebuilt my database'. If you do have problems then just close Notepad down and restart it. Then
email me (see below) with the problem

I would welcome feedback, comments and bug reports etc.


At the moment this provides the following features:

1. Choose either :

	All Notepads - i.e. all notes within ALL Notepads (Change dates option only)
	CURRENT Notepad - i.e. all notes within the CURRENT notepad only
	Selected Multiple Notes - i.e. you choose the notes to select WITHIN the current Notepad
          that are currently shown on the screen

2. Actions (see below for a more detailed description) - Change dates, Delete (notes),
    Move (notes) to another Notepad, Copy (notes) to another Notepad, Change priority,Amend 
    Projects and Find Orphan Notepads.

3. Diagnostic check shows :

	* Total number of notes
	* Number with no dates
	* Number overdue
	* Number due today
	* Number with active Alarms
	* Number which have been completed (crossed out)


Actions :

	1. Change Dates has the following options :

	  # to select notes BETWEEN two dates
	  # to include those with NO DUE DATES at present
 	  # to include CROSSED OUT Notes
	  # compact notepad file ( for your information if you change the dates on 20 notes you
            incur an increase in the file size of 25K)

	2. Delete function deletes either the selected notes or all notes within the current
           Notepad. It will not delete any Notes which have a link to another Notepad. If the
           note has a file attached then the file itself is NOT deleted.

	3. Move function moves either the selected notes or all notes within the current
           Notepad to the Notepad that you have chosen. It will not move any Notes which have a
           link to another Notepad or which have an alarm attached.

	4. Copy function copies either the selected notes or all notes within the current
           Notepad to the Notepad that you have chosen. It will not copy any Notes which have a
           link to another Notepad or which have an alarm attached.

	5. Change Priority function changes the priority of either the selected notes or all
           notes within the current Notepad to the new priority that you have chosen. It will
           not however change the priority of crossed out notes.

	6. Amend Projects function changes the project name of either the selected notes or all
           notes within the current Notepad to the new priority that you have chosen. It will
           not however change the priority of crossed out notes.By checking the "Use FROM filter"
           you will just change those notes which currently have the project name that you select
	   in the FROM line.

		PLEASE NOTE that : if you keep your projects file on the 'D' Drive then this 
		plugin will not work at the moment

	7. Find Orphan Notepads does two things:
		i.  Finds Notes which are 'floating' and are not linked to their owner Notepads
		ii. Finds Notepad links for which the linked Notepad doesn't exist - you may 
		    either delete the errant link or create a new Notepad corresponding
                    to the requisite link 
	   
	9. A workaround to print notes on or between selected due dates :

        This creates a new Owner called Print Date to which all notes that fall between your 
	selected dates are copied. When the routine finishes, you need to go to the normal Print
 	option in Notepad and select the option to print all notes contained in 'Print Date'. You
	may then wish to delete all notes within the Notepad Print Date to avoid duplicated
	notes appearing in Special Views like 'show all notes due today'.

	10. Searching for missing Map links. 

        This identifies missing links as shown in the Map and gives you options to:

        	i. Replace link. You need to identify the type of file selected
        	ii. Delete link reference
        	111. Do nothing


Selecting Multiple Notes:

	You select the notes that are currently shown on the screen within the current notepad 
        by using the stylus to tap onto the note that you wish to select. The note can be
        deselected by tapping on it again. When you have finished your selection you should
        either tap the CLOSE button at the bottom left hand side of the screen or press ENTER




Installation - this is by SIS file.
	 If you would like to be able to activate it from Notepad by pressing SHIFT-SPACE
	 (rather than from the Menu) then rename it to User.plg
