			 SignIn! for Windows
		      5-User Evaluation Version
			       11/19/94

SignIn! for Windows is an office productivity program that automates
the traditional employee In/Out peg board so anyone on the office
network can know where other employees are with a glance at their
Windows screen. A receptionist or employees mark when someone
arrives or departs, and everyone else on the network running SignIn!
knows about it without leaving their desks!

SignIn! has an easy to read display that quickly and easily indicates
someone's status with green In boxes and red Out boxes. A simple
click of the mouse can change someone's status from In to Out, or a
double click and more detailed status information can be entered.

What you get in the SignIn! for Windows 5-User Evaluation version:

(Custom SignIn! for Windows Components)
-SIGNIN.EXE	SignIn! for Windows Program
-SIUSERS.EXE	SignIn! for Windows User Administration Program
-SIGNIN.HLP	Help file
-SIGNIN.MDB	Sample database
-SIGNIN.LDB	Sample database

(Standard VisualBasic 3.0 Components)
CMDIALOG VBX
SPIN VBX
THREED VBX
GRID VBX
COMMDLG DLL
MSAES110 DLL
MSAJT110 DLL

What else you need:
==================================================================
-PC compatible running Windows 3.1 or newer
-VBRUN300.DLL (place along with other VBX/DLL files)
-SHARE.EXE installed before Windows is started

Note: VBRUN300.DLL may already be on your system, either because you
have already installed Visual Basic 3.0, or you have installed
another Visual Basic 3.0 program that included VBRUN300.DLL. If you
do not have VBRUN300.DLL you can get a copy from the CompuServe
MSBASIC forum by downloading VBRUN3.ZIP from library 5.

Note: SHARE.EXE is generally installed in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
For example:	C:\DOS\SHARE /L:500

(see next page)

How to get SignIn! for Windows installed and running:
==================================================================
Decide if you want to install as a single user or up to 5-users on a
network:
Single user is good for evaluation or receptionist only usage.
5-user Network is good for multiple user network productivity.
(this is where SignIn! really shines!)

-Create a directory to install SIGNIN.ZIP in
-for Single User, install to local drive (example: C:\SIGNIN)
-for 5-User Network, install to a shared network drive
						 (example: H:\SIGNIN)
-Copy SIGNIN.ZIP into this new directory
-UnZip SIGNIN.ZIP

For each SignIn! User
---------------------
-Copy *.VBX and *.DLL files to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory on each
user's system. These files CAN be left in the \SIGNIN directory,
but most packages install them to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.
-Create a new Windows Program Manager Item for SIGNIN.EXE on each
	user's system.
(browse to the installed location of the SIGNIN directory)
-Start SignIn! for Windows by double-clicking its' icon
-Log on using Name "DOE" or "DEER" with a Password of "JD".
DOE and DEER are two sample names pre-configured with SignIn!
SIUSERS.EXE is used by the SignIn! Administrator to create
	actual login Names and Passwords.

For the SignIn! Administrator (or Single User evaluator)
--------------------------------------------------------
-Create a new Windows Program Manager Item for SIUSERS.EXE on the
administrator's system. All user's do not need access to this
program, only one person generally administers a SignIn! system.
-Start SIUSERS by double-clicking its' icon
-Create up to 5 users with logon Names and Passwords

Note: SIUSERS.EXE is a simple administration program designed to go
with this evaluation copy of SignIn! A full featured administration
program is provided with a registered version of SignIn!

SignIn! is Installed!
---------------------
SignIn! is designed to be very easy to use. Just click on a user's
In or Out box to change their status, or double click anywhere on
their row to bring up a detailed status entry window. Double click
on a column header to sort on that column. Double click on that
column header again to reverse sort on that column.

SignIn! has some other neat display options that explained in the
online Help. Don't forget to read To get the most from SignIn!, use
the online Help menu for detailed user information!
