Animated Displays [ANTS] Ant Farm for Windows sends several ants scrurrying across your desktop. (reg. fee: $?) [BARTEYE] BartEyes III (Eccles, Randy; $5) puts an icon of Bart Simpson on the desktop with eyes that follow the mouse. It also plays digitized sound clips of Bart and has user-settable screen blanking. Any icon can be used in place of Bart. [CNN] CNN 1.0a displays the CNN revolving globe in an icon while it plays the CNN intro. (Ross C. Goldstein, reg. fee: $0) [COF_MUG] Coffee Mug 1.0 (Toggle Booleans; $0) displays a steaming cup of coffee on your desktop. If a window happens to bump the cup, it will spill onto the screen and you'll have to upright it from a menu. [COLOURS] Colours for Windows (Schwartz, Steven A.; $10) will produce a dazzling display of color by simply moving the mouse. Young tots will love it, and it is a rather enticing mind blanker for adults, as well. [DOGS] Dogs displays a small running dog in an icon. (reg. fee: $0) [DOTA] Dance of the Atoms 2.0 (AK-SYS; $0) generates interesting random images. It will work in both DOS and Windows 3. [EYECON] EyeCon 3.0 (Higashiyama, Nobuya; $0) is a pair of eyes that follows the mouse as it moves around the screen. [EYES] Eyes 2.1 (Eisnaugle, Chris; $0) displays a set of eyes on the desktop which follow your cursor around the screen. The eyes also have a number of other small features including winking, blinking, and falling asleep after mouse inactivity. [GHOST11] Desktop Ghost 1.1 (TOGGLE BOOLEANS, reg. fee: $0) displays a cute little ghost that wanders around your desktop. [GHOSTBM] Ghost 2.0 (Myers, Brian; $0) is a simple animation that you may want to use as a screen blanker at Halloween. Ghosts rise from a graveyard and float off the top of the display past a full moon and drifting clouds. The cursor turns into a witch on a broomstick and can be used to annoy the ghosts. [HORSE] Horse & Yin-Yang (Curran, James M.; $0) is a pair of rather odd applications. Horse creates a small (1.5") window that shows an animated, galloping horse, even when minimized to an icon. Yin-Yang draws the yin-yang symbol with computer influences and quotes a Kaon from the book "The Zen of Programming." [IMOVIES] Icon Movies 1.0 (Bell, James; $0) displays tiny animated movies in an icon. It includes a bouncing ball, two stick figures boxing, and a paper airplane being folded and thrown. [KALDEMO] Kaldemo 2b13 (Parker, Clinton; $10) displays a colorful kaleidoscope on your desktop. It has a screensaver option and continues to work even when minimized. [MSGICON] MsgIcon 3.10 provides animated icons for Windows message boxes. [NEKO] Neko 1.0 (Khani, Dara T.; $0) opens a window with a cute Japanese kitten named Neko in it. Neko chases the cursor around the screen if it is moving, and he will go to sleep if he detects no cursor movement. The animation of the kitten is very amusing to watch. [POLYANN] PolyAnna 1.1 (Bennett, David; $0) produces an interesting animated color display with bouncing polygons. Many options are available to customize the colors and shapes. When minimized, the program's icon is also animated. [POLYGONE] PolyGone (Mack, Jim; $0) is an interesting graphics display that you can adjust to any size. It even continues the show when iconized. [PUMPKIN] Desktop Pumpkin 1.1 (TOGGLE BOOLEANS, reg. fee: $0) displays a cute blinking pumpkin icon on your desktop. [SMLWRLD] Small World 0.1 (Galassi, Andy; $0) displays a spinning world globe as an icon on your desktop. [TERMITE] Termite 1.0 (Kellner, Hans; $0) is a Termite simulation. The multi-colored graphic display resembles a feeding swarm of termites. The swarm grows until it fills the screen. The animated icon included is very interesting. [TRASH] Trash (Grey, Jack; $?) displays a Macintosh-like trash can on your desktop. For maximum satisfaction, make sure a Mac fanatic is around when you double-click on the trash can. [WINPOOL] Windows Pool 1.0 (Lutton, Mark; $0) is a kaleidoscope type display that produces amazingly intricate images. [WIN_RCH] WinRoach 2.2 (New Generation Software; $13-$18) scatters animated roaches across your desktop. They scurry about and hide under the active window. When you close the window, the pests are exposed and you can squash them with a click of the left mouse button. Optionally, roaches may wander out of hiding at random intervals. A funny way to liven up your desktop. [WINKER] WinkBear (George Campbell, reg. fee: $0) is an animated graphic of a cute winking teddy bear. A sound file is provided for systems with sound cards. Requires WIN31 and VBRUN200. [XMASTRE] Xmas Tree (Vass, Garry J.; $0) is a Christmas tree painter for younger children. Source code is included. [YAWK] Yet Another Windows Kaleidoscope (Vass, Garry J.; $0) displays colorful Swirlies, Twirlies, Curlies, Flugies, and Planets. The latter is the most interesting, with orbiting planets being circled by their moons. C++ source code is included.
