creates a unique file name based on the current date and time. It does this by writing a batch file which uses the DOS SET command to set a DOS environment variable to an eight-character string which represents the current date and time. The variable can then be used to rename or copy an existing file.

is a programmable text-file parsing utility. It converts text files into formats which can be converted into other programs. You use a simple programming type format in configuration files to tell POM how to convert a file.
