Who Should Use TIA?

TIA solves the problem of SLIP access for three distinct groups:

  1. Individual shell account users who would like to use graphical Internet access software (like the Web!) but for whom SLIP is either not available or too expensive.
  2. UNIX system administrators who are looking for an easier, faster way of offering SLIP that doesn't require separate hardware or the setup and administrative overhead of static or dynamic SLIP.
  3. Corporations, universities, and other organizations with large numbers of shell account users who could benefit from graphical Internet access.
To meet the needs of these different audiences, TIA is licensed and sold in 3 ways:
  1. Single User licences (US $25) can be installed directly in any standard UNIX shell account. It uses a License Code tied to the user's login name and the domain name where the shell account is located.
  2. Host licenses (US $495) allows one TIA binary to serve up to 250 users on a single host. The Host License Code is tied to the host name and domain name.
  3. Site licenses allow any number of users on multiple hosts within a single Internet domain. Site License Codes are tied to domain names only. Site pricing depends on the number of hosts and users, but our goal is to make TIA by far the most cost-effective SLIP solution available.
