Master Microsoft Word for Windows with Master Word

MasterWord puts users in easy control of Word for Windows. With genuinely
useful tools, shortcuts, utilities and extraordinarily comprehensive
on-line help, MasterWord supercharges the word-processing power of
Microsoft Word.

SEATTLE--MasterWord, the all-in-one enhancement for Word for Windows is
making it possible for thousands of Word users to master this powerful and
popular Microsoft program. Reviewers and users alike have hailed it as
"essential."

PC Magazine's Barry Simon wrote of MasterWord: "Put these shortcuts and
enhancements to work, and they'll quickly become essential tools to
working smarter in Word for Windows." Steve Friedman, writing in a
California users group publication, called MasterWord, "an indispensable
utility for anyone who works extensively with Word for Windows." According
to Friedman, "Working with MasterWord is the difference between flying
first class and in coach."

A comprehensive improvement for Word for Windows, MasterWord offers an
arsenal of new Word commands, shortcuts and macros. The package is
highlighted by multiple floating versions of Word's toolbar, called
CustomBars. Users can customize a CustomBar with a selection of 500
colorful buttons or use the included editor to create their own.

MasterWord offers a thorough replacement for Word's on-line help; the
replacement supplies superior information, organization, and
cross-referencing. The replacement, called MasterWorld Help, is
configurable for users with different skill levels, even children. It
includes innovations such as a floating cross-reference window, and a
Quick menu of often forgotten keystrokes and mouse actions. "With these
new help screens, you will probably never consult the manual again,"
Baltimore Sun computer writer Lester Picker predicted.

The MasterWord CustomBar is a toolbar that users can customize. In one
mode, the CustomBar mimics Word' s Toolbar, assuming its position at the
top of the screen. Unlike the original Toolbar, however, MasterWord's
CustomBar allows users to switch from one set of buttons to any of more
than 20 other CustomBar sets with just a couple of mouse clicks.

This allows users to change the focus of the CustomBar quickly--and as
often as they like. For example, one CustomBar set might help the user
format paragraphs, while another provides tools for working with tables
and yet another makes it easy to move and revise text. A variety of
CustomBar sets come with MasterWord, and users can create more.

The MasterWord CustomBar also features a large button that displays such
information as the date, time, elapsed time, a word count for the current
document, the current template and Word's current mode. Users can switch
back and forth between the CustomBar and Word's Toolbar with a single
mouse click, effectively doubling the number of buttons available at one
time.

Adding to the CustomBar's utility is its ability to float anywhere on the
screen, vertically as well as horizontally. This allows users to see and
use the CustomBar and Word's Toolbar simultaneously.

Another MasterWord feature, Nickname, effectively functions as a CustomBar
for keyboard partisans. While the CustomBar lets a mouse user assign any
command or macro to a clickable button, Nickname allows a user who prefers
the keyboard to assign any command or macro to a combination of keys

Commands, macros, and even styles can be assigned codes up to four
characters long. Word limits users to single-character keyboard codes,
such as Ctrl+B. Nickname, however, overcomes this limitation.

Another tool, MasterWord Manager, moves macros, styles, and glossaries
between any two templates. This fast and easy-to-use feature is often a
favorite of power users.

MasterWord also improves upon many of Word's File commands, and provides an
improved interface for the Templates provided by Word. MasterWord's
Template Selector displays pictures of how a document might look if a user
employs a particular template.

In addition, MasterWord provides more than 50 macros, each of which amounts
to a new Word command or feature.

With a list price of $99.95, MasterWord is offered directly by Alki for
$59.95. Versions that work with the Macintosh and DOS versions of
Microsoft Word are also published.
