I've gone through the entire guide and cleaned out all the dead wood. In this case, "dead wood" is games that were announced 2 years ago or more and were never heard of since. Or, games that certain companies simply won't release for the ST at all. While STGD looks nice and fat with all those games in place, I feel that it presents a skewed and unrealistic view of what is likely to actually come out for the ST! So, they're gone, and we're left with a leaner, meaner Digest. Meanwhile, I continue to await the arrival of Frontier: Elite 2. You have no idea how badly I want this game. Called up Psygnosis US recently. They have nothing on the schedule for the ST at all. Guess I'm gonna have to contact Psygnosis UK. Readysoft is no longer handling Empire games. There is an Empire office in the US, but they won't be distributing ST versions. They will, however, provide limited customer support. But they don't know beans about the STs. You can send the UK registration cards to: Empire Software, 4 Professional Drive, Suite 123, Gaithersburg, MD, 20879. Their phone number is (301) 216-9706. The Glendale AtariFaire came and went. It was smaller than last year's. If this keeps up, the next AtariFaire will be held in a single hotel ballroom instead of the Glendale Civic Auditorium. Atari showed Falcons, but no Jaguar. However, I got to see one anyway. Not a bad little machine, looks just like the pictures in the new issue of AtariUser International (October '93). I saw 5 games: Tempest 2000 (Jeff Minter), like the original with a few twists; Cybermorph, kinda like Thunderstrike, nice landscape texture; Nebula something-or-other, side-scrolling shoot'em'up, nice detailing; Checkered Flag II, memory problem, didn't run too well; Alien Vs. Predator (rough stage), super-smooth scrolling, nice texturing of the walls and doorways; makes Wolfenstein 3D look almost 8-bit-ish. If Atari can come up with some neat games to snag the public eye, we might have a winner on our hands! But this won't save the STs or Falcons. See y'all in November. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- ST Gaming News: --------------- Games Released From July 11th To September 30th 1993: ----------------------------------------------------- Falcon Imported: ---------------- --Llamazap (Atari/Jeff Minter).
