LaserLope Tools LaserLope tools are a collection of files used for working on the LaserLope program itself. You may have a use for them also, so they have been cleaned up a tad and are now yours to use or dispose of as you please. LINE SPACING The line spacing program was used to determine the best line spacing for the various font sizes. This program may have no value to you but it's free and damn well worth it. After running the LINESPCG.PRG you will be asked to select a typeface, a font size, and a line spacing value. Only a few of the available font sizes and line spacing values (3,4,6,8, & 12) were used in LaserLope but all that the LaserJet 4 allows are available here for your testing. After making your selections, the program will print several lines of text. The printed page will not eject until you select PRINT from the alert box or until the page is full. You may continue to select and print samples as long as you wish. I suggest that you use the backside of previously used paper when running this program. FONT LIST This little program will printout a nice wall chart containing a sample of every typeface available in the LaserJet 4 which may be used in conjunction with LaserLope. No instructions are needed, just be sure you have a clean piece of paper loaded in the printer and double click on the program "FONTLIST.PRG". Once the program has been started, you will NOT be able to stop the printing process from within the program. ADDRESS DATABASE This is merely a sample database in ASCII format created using Data Manager ST. You may create your database any way you want so long as it is in ASCII format and exactly follows the format in this sample file. Please run a test using this sample database or a sample of your own database on paper printed with the next program, LOPESIZR.PRG. ENVELOPE SIZER This small program will draw outlines of the various standard envelope sizes as well as other non-standard outlines on 8-1/2 in. x 11 in. paper. You can then print sample address formats on the pre-printed paper to determine how your envelopes will look, prior to actually printing on an envelope. Simply load your pre- printed sheets onto the MP tray and run the LaserLope program. The pre-printed forms are mirrored so you can turn them 180 degrees and use them several times. To run the program just double click on LOPESIZR.PRG and stand back. One sheet of pre-printed envelopes outlines will come shooting out of your LaserJet 4. 8-) I suggest you use the back side (unprinted side) of previously used paper for this purpose.
