Booker is a little program to save lots of paper. It will print text files in a small font, four pages to a sheet of paper. When you are completed, take the sheets, fold them in half, and put two staples into the fold. Unfortunately you will need a HP laser Jet II or a clone to use this program. The program is very easy to use, but you may mess up the first few times rearranging the sheets of paper. To start, click on the file that you want to print. The program will examine the complete file, determining where each page starts and ends. After this process, the pages will start to spew out of your printer. After the file is half printed, there will be a message on the screen to take the sheets that have come out, and reverse their order. This will allow the other side of the paper to be printed. The most critical part of this program is the rearrangement of the pages. The first part of the program is determining the number of sheets of paper that will be used. This cannot be determined prior to looking at the complete file. Assuming that there are 32 pages of text, there will be eight sheets of paper. The pages will come out 2- 31. 4-29, 6-27, etc. Most of the time the pages will come out printed side down in the tray. Take these sheets and reverse their order, taking the bottom sheet and putting them on top, such that the 2-31 sheet will have pages 1-32 printed on the back side. Be sure that the unprinted side remains up. Place the sheets back into the tray and press the dialog button, and the rest of the sheets will be printed. The most difficult part is the rearrangement of the sheets. Reverse the order, staple the sheets in the middle, and you are finished.
