Yo!!!!!!!!!! This is my (N+X)th release for Miha's C64s.EXE. I have received many complaints about my c64uti2, 3 and 4.zip. I was impressed to delete the bugs from my prev sources (it was a shame that a good c0der like me made public not-too-tested sources. But I was in hurry :-)). I was asked to compile my utizz to executable format because of lack of Turbo Pascal compilers at a average PC-user. So I compiled them... Some words about the utizz: FASTFOR2.EXE: makes a _empty.d64 with total clean area. It can be good when you want a free, ZIPable disk; and with the simple Scratch command the testdisk.d64 will hold the erased prog's code; and it causes less efficient compression rate. T64TOBIN.EXE: if you DL a converted ZIP pack with .T64 files, you can retrieve the original binary files with this program. I was impressed to write this uty when one of my uploads to nic.funet.fi (950k ZIP w/ lots of nice demos) was rejected (it was said that the T64 files don't run on a plain C64). CPY2DSK3.EXE: this was the most buggy prog. I have found LOTS of bugs!!! Now I think it's bugless. This program is the most useful uty in this pack. It copies a binary file to the TESTDISK.D64 image. DISK2TAP.EXE: it had bugs, too, coz the original C64 holds the dir in the 18th track's 1, 4,... block (and NOT in phisical order!). So if you wanted to copy back the 7th. file, it worked well, but it failed with the 9th. file (the program was looking for it in block 2!) The prog copies back from the specified disk image to OUT.FIL. You must supply the number of file in dir to copy back. 64WINCH.EXE: It's a preview, coz I haven't managed to phone Miha. It's purpose will be the next: it will simulate a HARD DISK with LIMITED write (<=166k) and NICE read access (max. number of files to hold: 144, and max. track number is $ff <- these are the limitations! It means that you can use 7 disk together in ONE dir! Think of it! You don't need to swap disks in Last Ninja 2, you won't be forced to change disk sides when you un-LYNX the diskmags MOJO etc... But... Original 1541 BIOS allows reading from after the 35th. track. The emulator doesn't. This is a big mistake in Miha's emulator, it will be corrected in couples of day - so wait for the news! I'll put a letter on Internet&Usenet&All of the Elite BBSes if I hear some good news... I haven't compile this uti (remember: this is only preview!) The progs are absolutely public domain. If you find them valuable, please send me smoe greetings (in demos, mags etc...). And watch out my demo and mag conversions :)!
