Cooperative : Nope Deathmatch : Yes, 10 spawn locations Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : 3dsr4 with keyscript for .map export notepad, the most advanced tool out there :) Worldcraft to patch it up a bit Known Bugs : The lower half of the screen gets garbled at some places probably because of overlapping and aligned brushes, doesn't affect gameplay though Build Time : Too long Texture Wad used : yep Compile machine : P90 (sucks) with 80Mb (rules) QBSP Time : 10 minutes, 10 seconds Light (-extra) Time : 1184 seconds Vis (full) Time : 708 seconds * Other Info * I started this level in august or september using 3ds. I didn't use a grid which did make things somewhat messy. I was also limited by the keyscript, although it got me started, I could only use boxes and entities like doors were only partly supported so I had to edit the .map by hand afterwards. Working like this I got some errors I could report to the Quakelab. I finally decided to finish the level with Worldcraft and release it since it was fun playing it at the office. It's not a great level but the main hall should provide some nice, clean 3d fun. It's fun with the reaper too. BTW, there is a secret door somewhere. Now I have been converted to Worldcraft and am making a new level in military base style where r_speeds will be kept under 450. It will be called 'The Academy' and it will feature 2 difficulty settings, be a cool deathmatch level and have some extra features for when you're all alone.. (see the included screenshots) * How to install * Put refine.bsp in your QUAKE\ID1\MAPS\ directory. Type MAP REFINE.BSP from the console.
