Austria has excellent health-care facilities. Before you embark on your trip, however, it's a wise idea to make sure your health insurance covers you while abroad. Walking at night is safe even in the larger cities, though petty crimes do occasionally occur, fueled by drug and alcohol addiction. Keep valuables hidden—whether on your person or in your rental car.
