Austria's primary unit of currency is the Austrian schilling (AS). There are 100 groschen to the schilling. Groschen come in denominations of 2, 5, 10, and 50. Schillings are available as coins in denominations of 1, 5, 10, and 20, and as notes in denominations of 20, 50, 100, 500, 1,000, and 5,000.There are no restrictions on the amount of money, from any country, that can be brought into or taken out of Austria.
Austria uses the metric system of measurements.
