A. E. Koechert

This establishment is worth the time of anyone who likes extraordinarily fine brooches, rings, necklaces, and original creations in the renowned Viennese style. Austrian handwork in precious metals and gems not only has its distinctive flavor, but labor costs are so low that only Portugal can offer such comparatively modest prices.

From 1814 onwards, this landmark was designated by successive emperors as crown jeweler to the imperial court. Gorgeously opulent pieces are available to the millionaire trade, of course, but there are also more reasonably priced items. There's an intangible quality, an ethereal beauty to the pieces here, which is impossible to describe. Ask for Wolfgang and Christoph Koechert. This is a treasure house.
