Run out to Burgenland on a sunny day and have lunch at the Nikolaus-Zeche in Purbach. It's about an hour's drive from Vienna, on the Hungarian border, near Neusiedler Lake.Closer to town is Lainz Game Park, a lovely parcel of the Wienerwald (Vienna Woods) and formerly a royal hunting ground. Here you'll find some 500 deer, numerous boar, wild sheep, and other creatures roaming the grounds surrounding the stately Hermès Villa, which was built for Empress Elizabeth. To get there, take tram #62 from the Opera or bus #60B from Hermès Str.
