Description
Housed in the basement of the historic Rathaus, this keller restaurant has been serving city officials and business types since 1899. The cellar is divided into various rooms, each with its own decor. Stained-glass windows and high vaulted ceilings add to the atmosphere, but the reasonably priced food and the music show during dinner are what draw repeat customers. The house specialty is a brimming platter of meats, veal, lamb, and pork, enough for two hungry diners. Musicians play a variety of tunes, including opera melodies, waltzes, and Schrammel, sentimental Austrian favorites. The evening music show is offered for a fixed price for those not eating a full meal.
