If you want a convenient address with stunning views in Rome's finest quarter, then look no further—the subtle hominess here is hard to match anywhere in the city. There are a roof garden with magnificent views over Rome and a marvelous window-wrapped dining room serving Roman cuisine; an outdoor patio with the Imperial bar in its court; a genteel interior bar with a large adjoining lounge; and a reading room in soft greens. There are 100 rooms with bath, some with balcony and/or Jacuzzi; and 14 suites. Many of the rooms have been widened by clever architectural techniques and built-in furnishings, and hand-painted murals have been added to some walls. The top spots are the San Pietro, the Presidential, and the Medici Suites, all with glorious views of the city. There's also a fine hair-dressing salon. The effort here is so cordial and zealous that the Hassler will even arrange golf and lunch for guests at a beautiful nearby club. This is hosting at its best.
