Much updating has gone into this beautiful, ornate, and palatial building over the past several seasons. Unfortunately, as it is so large, much of its elegance is lost in the ambience of its lobby, lounges, and public sectors, which are often filled with tour groups. There are 327 beautifully decorated and furnished rooms with enlarged bath, including twin basins, separate nonskid tub and shower room, and TV; 45 suites; a small off-lobby restaurant serving savory food; room service; and soundproof double windows wherever you look. The maintenance here is immaculate. Tariffs range from reasonable group levels to the stratosphere for rooms and suites that outshine some of the other luxury hotels.
