Behind its tremendous success is Angelo Bettoja (pronounced Bet-toy-yah), president of the Rome Hotel Association, whose wife is American. Accommodations include 272 soundproof rooms with marble bath and TV; 11 spacious suites with private terrace; a highly regarded dining salon; a cozy piano bar; a lovely lobby; and a 120-car parking garage—and what an asset that is here. The hotel is just one block from both the central railway station and the airline terminus. You may be able to find greater lushness and plushness elsewhere, but certainly not quite the same friendly attitude.
