This hotel, now designated as a National Trust Museum, is in a town called Fiésole just 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) from Florence. Originally, the building was a 16th-century monastery designed by Michelangelo. The garden, with its waterfall and pool area, is surrounded by 200-year-old oaks. Splendid panorama of the Arno River and Florentine Valley. Its 30 rooms and ten suites, former cells, have been lavishly and comfortably furnished; fine frescoes and oils as well as antique furnishings are found throughout.
