Scuola di San Rocco

Itself an impressive Renaissance structure (1515–60), the Scuola di San Rocco contains a cycle of 56 paintings by Tintoretto, who created these works between 1564 and 1581. But apart from the oils, you will be torn between the magnificent gilt coffers on the ceiling and the polychromatic marble floors underfoot. This has to be one of the most ornate parlors in Christendom.
