	Festa del Redentore The Festa del Redentore, held on the third Sunday of July, commemorates the deliverance of Venice from the plague in 1576. On the Saturday night before, a huge fireworks display explodes over the city. On Sunday, a bridge of boats leads from San Marco to Il Redentore church across the Giudecca Canal, which the faithful cross to attend a thanksgiving mass. Address: Venice Italy
