Arts & Culture (Overview)

If you're planning on seeing a number of museums, then consider a special museum pass called a Biglietto Cumulativo. Although the ticket won't get you into the Accademia, for 18,000 lire (US$12) it does get you into nine other museums in Venice. Buy the ticket at any participating museum.

If you're under 29, you're eligible for a Rolling Venice discount card. For 5,000 lire (US$3) you get a card that entitles you to discounts at many hotels, restaurants, shops, and museums in Venice; it also takes 20 percent off a three-day vaporetto pass. Apply for the pass at the Comune di Venezia office, at Corte Contarina, San Marco 1529 (Tel. 270 7650).

Most churches in Venice demand that you wear modest clothing when visiting. You'll need to wear shirts with sleeves, long pants, and mid-length dresses, and not show cleavage.
