Restaurants (Overview)

It's often said that you can't eat well in touristy Venice. This is simply untrue—though exquisite food is never inexpensive, and in Venice, at its most famous restaurants, it is very expensive indeed. But there are trattoria with good calamari fritti, risotto nero alle seppie (with cuttlefish and its ink), and fegato alla Veneziano (if you want liver with onions). And the tiny osteria and wine bars have decent food at modest prices.
